Carrier Service Representative

Responsibilities
Assist Carrier Representatives in managing their day to day activities and operations
Maintain and further develop quality relationships with carriers and drivers
Track and trace loads covered by contracted carriers
Provide necessary information to internal departments in order to meet service parameters required by the customer
Provide Carrier Representatives and Customer Experience Representatives load status updates
Provide carriers and drivers all information needed to properly execute logistic plans as determined by the customer to ensure proper customer service is provided
Maintain and further develop carrier and driver relationships through daily communication
Provide excellent customer service by tracking loads to help ensure on time pickups and deliveries are made
Document all communications and information related to load status within the TMS
Enter all required driver information within the TMS
Enter arrival and departure times within the TMS for all pickups and delivery locations
Proactively provide tracking updates to Carrier Representatives and Customer Experience Representatives
Resolve problems when they arise
Escalate problems to Carrier and/or Customer Experience Representatives if required
Manage unplanned accessorial charge issues when applicable
Enter all necessary information into the TMS to ensure data integrity
Prioritize tracking based on customer priority and time sensitivity
Represent our customer when working with contracted carriers
Act as a representative of all contracted carriers
Identify and communicate ways U.S. Xpress Logistics can continuously improve in its operations
Execute Carrier Representative responsibilities when they are out of the office or unavailable
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a deadline driven environment
Ability to work in stressful situations
Ability to multitask required
Preferred
College degree in business or experience in the transportation field
Sales, Marketing or Customer Service experience
