Responsibilities

Represent the Company in federal, state and local court and administrative proceedings and to negotiate and/or litigate in connection with labor, employment and OSHA compliance matters of moderate to high complexity
Provide legal advice on interpretating and applying OSHA safety and health standards and regulations, specifically electric power transmission and distribution; advise and represent the Company in all stages of OSHA investigations and inspections; and litigate contested OSHA Citations
Support Company management in the negotiation, implementation, and interpretation of the Companys labor contracts
Oversee or conduct legal research, write legal memoranda and briefs and draft contracts
Provide any other labor and employment-related legal services related to Company operations
Perform administrative matters in connection with the operation of the Law Department
Work with and manage or oversee outside counsel on matters as needed or required
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required

Required

Juris Doctorate J.D. Degree from a recognized and accredited law school
Must be admitted to practice law in the state of New York, required
Must have a minimum of 10 years legal experience with a focus on labor and employment matters (including administrative and judicial proceedings), required
First chair deposition experience required
Must possess excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication, litigation and negotiation skills, required
Driver's License Required

Preferred

Experience with OSHA, ERISA & Immigration, preferred
First or second chair trial experience, preferred
Experience with OSHA compliance issues and handling administrative proceedings involving OSHA citations, as described above, highly preferred
