Responsibilities
Lead monthly close process and act as key NAV reviewer, including:
Preparation of Profit and Loss (P&L) reconciliations and confirm accurate performance attribution
Validate the Fund administrator’s NAV calculation, and compliance with the Fund’s governing documents and accounting standards
Identify and resolve any issues with the Fund administrator
Process expenses and maintain accrual schedules
Calculate management, incentive, and performance fees
Responsible for maintenance of investor capital accounts, including:
Processing of capital activity
Review and validation of Fund administrator’s allocation files against shadow files, LPA requirements, and any side letter arrangements
Calculation of high-water marks, hurdles, and claw-back mechanics
Review of monthly investor statements
Assist with the Fund’s annual audit, including:
Review U.S. GAAP financial statements, financial highlights, and support schedules prepared by the administrator
Act as primary contact with auditor and administrator, responding to requests as needed
Assist with regulatory filings by reviewing, or providing, information related to the NAV calculation or financial statements
Responsible for daily trade process, including:
Booking and communication of trades, and security life cycle events
Working with counterparties to resolve trade settlement issues in a timely manner
Preparation of cash and position reconciliations and proactively working to resolve breaks
Responsible for daily and monthly pricing of securities, including:
End of day sourcing, review against Valuation policy, and communication
Analyzation of P&L impact on Funds
Validation of life cycle security events, corporate actions, special events, and financing related to security prices
Assist with Fund liquidity needs, including:
Providing cash balance and projection reporting
Collateral management
Acting on cash flow movements
Assisting with the onboarding of new counterparties
Tracking banking relationships
Collaborate with the Fund administrator and third-party service providers, recommending process improvements, system upgrades, and data integrity initiatives
Drive process improvements and system enhancements to optimize accounting operations and reporting accuracy
Improve company processes, elevate operations strategy, and provide valuable insights to enhance efficiency and growth
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
4-7+ years of experience in Hedge Fund accounting or Fund Administration
Knowledge of US GAAP and investment company accounting
Strong understanding of partnership accounting, NAV calculations, and investment products
Ability to understand complex fund structure terms and investor allocation rules
Experience working with custodians, ISD counterparties, and a Fund administrator
Experience working with Order Management and Fund administrator systems
Proficient in Excel
Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage internal and external relationships and influence a range of stakeholders
Attention to detail
Flexible, self-starter, with the ability to multitask and work in an ambiguous fast-paced environment
