Responsibilities
Determines eligibility for expedited food assistance services
Explains eligibility to applicants and recipients applying/receiving public assistance
Enters client data into database based on intake of caller information
Maintains necessary files and records
Completes general clerical duties including using computer to input data of clients who are applying for public assistance benefits
Answers phones
Uses photocopy machine, scanner and other office equipment
Conducts application registration
Schedules appointments
Performs intake interviews
Conducts statewide clearance and reconciles any discrepancies on all household members
Maintain office email accounts and serves as clerical backup for units
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or its equivalent
Two years of clerical or public contact experience
Ability to speak/read/write Spanish/Creole/French or other foreign language may be considered in the selection process as determined by Agency need at time of interview and/or selection
Successful completion of a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment
Background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for State and Federal criminal records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
