Responsibilities
The Associate Warden for Programs manages the programs section, which provides a large variety of programs services to the offender population, including case management, chaplaincy services, treatment and rehabilitation programs, volunteer programs, and transitional services
This position has dual supervision for the medical, dental and psychological services
The Associate Warden is responsible for establishing operating procedures and standards for all program services
This position is directly involved with the hiring, disciplining, coaching, and training of staff under his/her supervision
This position is responsible for providing an offender labor force for the entire prison
The Associate Warden participates as a member of the Executive Management Team for planning, development and management of the facility
This position may serve as acting Warden in the absence of the Warden
This position will report to the directly to the Warden
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution
two years of supervisory or management level experience in CORRECTIONAL programs
Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
Preferred
Documented skills in supervision and management techniques
Documented knowledge of supportive counseling or treatment programs
Documented knowledge of services available to individuals from the community and other Public and private program
