TotalEnergies is a leading energy company, and they are seeking a temporary Communications/PR Specialist to develop and implement effective communications strategies. The role involves interacting with stakeholders, managing public relations, and ensuring clear communication within the local community.

Responsibilities

Drive effective communications initiatives to provide updates to employees and local stakeholders about the key Port Arthur Platform issues
Influence Platform leadership on strategic projects to ensure effective communications with all external and internal stakeholders
Resolve sensitive and complex public relation matters involving competing stakeholders and company reputation
Independently create/write, edit, proofread, fact-check, and coordinate production of communications in multiple media and formats
Consistently and autonomously create accurate, clear, complete, communications which are grammatically correct and carry a consistent tone
Provide critical expertise for the development of public relations, including press releases, newspaper articles, fact sheets, talking points, website content, issue statements, Q&A's, etc
Lead the planning and preparation for site celebration and milestone events with full responsibility and independence
Ensure overall message and communication materials adhere to the corporate branding requirements and standards
Coordinate with TotalEnergies Corporate Communication Team to produce press releases, holding statements, and other internal and external communication
Provide referential expertise in the field of public relations for the Incident Command Team during times of crisis

Required

Bachelor's degree in communications with a Minimum of 5 years' experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or journalism
OR Minimum 10 years' experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or journalism
Knowledge of communications and marketing practices preferred
Exceptional writing and editing skills, including persuasive writing, editing for content, format, style, grammar and proofing
Strong interpersonal and verbal skills and must be able to interact with all levels of employees
Ability to translate complex topics into terms easily understood by broad audiences
Efficiency in project and time management
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Highly organized with the ability to work well under pressure and be highly productive
Extended hours required to execute events and answer media inquiries
