Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical building systems
Lead the development of a new in-house engineering department, including workflows, standards, and quality control processes
Collaborate closely with architects and design teams to deliver integrated project solutions
Oversee engineering design, documentation, and code compliance
Mentor, develop, and eventually recruit additional engineering staff
Participate in project planning, client coordination, and internal leadership discussions
Qualification
Required
PE license
Ability to provide elegant and effect design solutions
A positive, creative, and professional approach to project deliverables
General knowledge of Tenant Finish Design Packages: interior materials and finishes, floor plans, furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, interior details, millwork details, ceiling details etc
Proficient in different MEP system types and detailing
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to details
Ability to work under indirect supervision
Effective interpersonal skill and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
Technically creative and open-minded
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
Licensure in the state of Ohio and ability to obtain additional state licensure
5+ years of engineering experience preferably within the commercial, hospitality, health clubs, office, retail, animal care, and restaurant industry
Understanding and knowledge of building codes, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and site requirements
Proficiency in AutoCad, HAP or similar block load software, and Microsoft Office is required
