Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Administrator

The position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southeast Regional Office (SERO). Responsibilities

Serve as a scientific advisor and program administrator for the management of living marine resource protection pursuant to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act and Restoring American Seafood Competitiveness Executive Order (14276); responsible for fishery management plan development, review, and implementation with optimal efficiency and effectiveness
Develop, review, and evaluate environmental and regulatory programs, and provide oversight of strategic planning and budget allocation to support maximum mission success in support of the management of marine resources and seafood competitiveness
Determine goals and objectives that need additional emphasis; determine the best approach or solution for resolving budget shortages; and plan for long-range staffing needs, including such matters as whether to contract out work
Provide staff leadership, program oversight, policy direction and perform the full range of supervisory functions

This position requires a Moderate Risk Security Clearance
Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation
Selectee may be subject to serving a one-year probationary period
Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
A one year supervisory probationary period may be required (probationary period can be served concurrently)
A background investigation will be required for this position. Continued employment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication
Education completed in colleges or universities outside the United States may be used to meet the above requirements. You must provide acceptable documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States
