EC Assistant Superintendent
Elmington Construction is a Nashville-based general contractor and construction management company specializing in affordable and multi-family housing. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in leading and managing the field team, oversee all work on site, and ensure quality standards, safety regulations, and adherence to company guidelines.

Responsibilities
Knowledge, management, and occasional installation of rough carpentry including layout of foundations/walls/decks, installing wood blocking/hardware/wood guard rails, setting frames/doors/windows, minor concrete formwork, and minor demolition
Models safety as a core guiding principle and brings safety concerns to the Superintendent
Holds subs accountable to proper housekeeping of project site
Communicates any material delivery needs to project team & superintendent
Performs a detailed review of project documents to stay ahead of RFI's and future coordination issues
Assists in daily reports, progress reports, and compliance reports
Documents subcontractor issues
Assists in planning the project and updating project schedule
Plans and establishes the flow of the work activities on the project
Reviews approved submittals and ensures installed work is to submittals & specs
Helps drives project closeout and owner turnover
Demonstrates adherence to EC policy and processes and teaches EC policy and processes to new team members
Prioritizes and actively mentors and trains others
Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum of ten years related construction experience and/or training
Must be able to work outside on construction site including all types of weather (extremes of hot/cold)
Able to stand; crawl; climb ladders & stairs; balance; stoop and kneel; etc (physical activities associated with construction sites)
You must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
You frequently work near moving mechanical parts
You occasionally work in high, precarious places and are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
You should be able to recognize these hazards or potential hazards a react accordingly to protect the workforce and provide OSHA compliant safeguards

Preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - OSHA 30 Hour preferred. If not current, to receive within the first year of employment and keep current
A degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred, but can be substituted with experience
Commercial/Multi-Family Construction experience preferred
