Lead Test Proctor

Responsibilities

Proctor written exams and physical fitness tests while maintaining order, fairness, and candidate comfort
Monitor candidate performance and record results accurately (paper and electronic entry)
Use and maintain testing equipment (iPad/iPod, video camera equipment, PAT equipment, computers, projectors, etc.)
Conduct quality control checks to ensure forms are complete and correct; make corrections as needed
Monitor the testing environment for test integrity, candidate safety and overall site operations
Maintain confidentiality of candidate data and control sensitive/proprietary materials
Pick up/return controlled testing materials and equipment at designated storage/shipping points
Professionally network with agency representatives at test sites to support agency recruiting efforts
Lead pre-event setup, briefing, and role assignments for proctor teams (typically 1–4 staff per event)
Ensure testing is delivered in accordance with PST policies/standards and a consistent candidate experience
Comfortable addressing groups of people to deliver clear instructions, briefings, and test-day announcements
Act as the first point of escalation for candidate questions, facility issues, or technical challenges. Escalate to the customer service team as required
Coach and support proctors in real time; reinforce safety, accuracy, and professionalism
Perform end-of-event quality checks, verify documentation, and confirm all materials/equipment are secured and returned
Report post-test event to supervisor for any required follow-up items

Required

Two years of general experience in a customer-facing role (clerical, office, or other progressively responsible work that demonstrates ability to learn and perform required duties)
One year of supervisory experience leading small teams
Strong competency in customer service, integrity/honesty, and communication
Education: one year above high school (accredited school/college/university) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid WA State driver's license required
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Preferred

5+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a customer-facing role
Experience with or connection to public safety agencies
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Experience leading small teams, training others, coaching, teaching, or supervising in the field
