Interior Architectural Designer/Project Manager
David Scott Interiors is a design firm specializing in high-end residential interiors, and they are seeking an experienced Interior Architectural Designer/Project Manager. The role involves supporting design teams in project management, production, and completion of various design and construction documents, with a focus on technical aspects of interior design.

Responsibilities
Project programming, design and planning, construction documents, creating fixtures & finishing schedules, budgeting, presentations, construction administration, scheduling, reporting project status, follow up—ensuring the quality and accuracy of each project
Prepare and present schematic and architectural drawings under the direction of Interior Design Firm
Candidate must have experience compiling and executing construction documents and millwork packages
Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience designing and detailing high-end bathrooms, kitchens and residential millwork
We are seeking candidates with excellent leadership and team facilitation skills, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate intent, plans, status, issues, alternatives, solutions, and to resolve conflicts
Candidate must also have the ability to impeccably communicate with outside architects, contractors, vendors and high-profile clientele
Superb customer service is of paramount importance
Excellent MS Office skills are mandatory and knowledge of Studio Designer, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite a plus!
Applicants must possess an interest in and the ability to work with a fast paced team and take direction, as appropriate
The candidate must be a strategic thinker who pays attention to detail
They will possess the skills to execute projects with style, flexibility and charisma within an intimate collaborative 10-person design studio
Qualification
Required
7-10 years demonstrated experience in interior design with complex, full-cycle project and construction management in high-end residential interiors
Portfolio with proof of built work required
Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam, Rendering, 3D Drafting/Modeling
Ability to communicate design through various methodologies
Extensive knowledge of New York trade sources
Demonstrated knowledge of materials, applications, and specifications in the following areas: Classical and modern architecture design, Residential appliances, plumbing fittings and architectural hardware, A/V equipment & home automation system coordination, HVAC coordination, High-end construction detailing and site management, Custom cabinetry/millwork design, detailing, and shop drawing review, Coordination of schedules with tagging in interiors drawing sets (finishes, plumbing, lighting, door/hardware etc.), Architectural lighting design/specifications
Experience compiling and executing construction documents and millwork packages
Experience designing and detailing high-end bathrooms, kitchens and residential millwork
