Director of Finance
Trinity Christian Academy is a Pre-K - 12 Christian school in Willow Park, Texas, seeking a Director of Finance. The Director will supervise financial transactions and processes, lead financial strategy and operations, and collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team while managing a small team in various financial and administrative areas.

The Director of Finance supervises the financial, facilities and transportation transactions and processes for the School
The Director of Finance is the chief financial officer of the School and a principal leader in areas of operations, financial strategy, and policy
With direction and guidance of the Head of School, the Director of Finance fulfills responsibilities, serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, and is a thought-partner as well as a hands-on participative manager leading a team in the areas of accounting, financial operations, business planning, human resources, administration, facilities management, risk management, and transportation
This position assists and reports to the Head of School, supervises the Business Office, facilities, and transportation team members, and works in collaboration with all administrators, staff, and faculty
This is a full-time and exempt position
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning processes, administer and review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress and changes, and keep the Executive Leadership Team abreast of the School’s financial status
Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
Create the annual budget and oversee its effective implementation
Ensure adequate financial controls are in place and monitored effectively
Ensure tuition is collected in a timely manner and that delinquencies are dealt with appropriately
Coordinate and lead the annual financial audit process
Liaise with the external auditors and the finance committee
Manage cash flow and cash forecasting, manage investment and future endowment pools
Oversee contracts and a contract management system
Update and implement all necessary business policies, processes and accounting practices, as well as the policies and procedural manuals
Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters in a timely manner to the Head of School and Board of Trustees
Directly supervise the facilities and transportation team members and the maintenance/custodial functions
Manage school property and insurance programs, advising the Head of School and Board of any changes
Liaise with contractors and the Facilities Committee for all renovation, replacement and construction projects
Manage facilities usage by third parties as a revenue source including risk management, contracts, and fees
Acquire and manage equipment leases and maintenance
Solicit, review and/or prepare bid specifications, obtain bids or price quotations, tabulate bids, and execute contracts as prescribed by Board policy
Develop and administer a program for purchasing all supplies, materials and equipment in a responsible, cost effective and accurate manner
Directly supervise the Finance Office staff and lead annual benefit plans and policy changes
Enhance compensation and benefits through research and strategic initiatives
Oversee the process of application and awarding of need-based financial aid, with involvement and input from others designated by the Head of School
Research and design the program and the process to maximize net tuition and enrollment goals
Meet and deal effectively and transparently with parents, employees, trustees, and third-party vendors and consultants
Assist the technology team with the selection and procurement of resources and training, with particular attention to opportunities using grant funds for procurement
Select and oversee software installations where appropriate and organize staff training in certain applications especially in reducing risk of cyber threats
Research financial and management topics and related legal issues for the purposes of evaluating compliance requirements and potential implications on operations
Follow federal and state laws and board policies
Serve as resource person to the Head of School and Board of Trustees in matters pertaining to federal, state and local regulations, school policy, and best practices
Align recommendations pertaining to school policy and major financial decisions first with the Head of School’s leadership
Provide input into school-wide decisions with the Admin Team when appropriate
Fulfill the expectations for staff members as stated in the Faculty/Staff Handbook, including a vital, personal faith in Jesus Christ
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required, CPA preferred
Minimum five years of overall broad financial and operations management experience. Experience with schools is highly desired, or other not-for-profit organizations
Accounting concepts and management skills required
Ability to translate financial concepts to, and effectively collaborate with other administrators in areas of admissions, marketing, fundraising, and education
Proficient in basic technology applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel). Google Apps knowledge is beneficial (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail)
Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
Must be self-starting and able to multitask. Excellent verbal, visual, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. A successful track record in setting priorities, keen analytical, organization and problem solving skills and in sound decision-making
Contribution to the life of the school outside of regular duties is expected
Represent the school in a positive light and be a strong spokesperson for the school
Exhibits the qualities and characteristics of a mature Christian leader as evidenced by personal integrity, credibility, and commitment to the Mission of the School

Tuition remission is offered as a percentage of tuition for the employee’s children enrolled in TCA.
