Responsibilities
Plan: Develop a content calendar for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook that engages our audience
Execute: Film, edit, and post original content, specifically tailored to each platform's trends and best practices
Present: Pitch content ideas to the team and report on engagement metrics
Ensure all digital assets meet WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and ADA compliance standards
Critical Requirement: While prior experience with WCAG is not required for candidates who excel in other areas, learning and applying these compliance standards is an extremely necessary and non-negotiable function of this role
Interns will be required to learn these steps immediately (certification courses are available) to ensure all government communications are legally compliant and inclusive
Assist in planning and executing diverse community events, ranging from informational tabling to large-scale holiday events
Coordinate logistics and on-site support to ensure events run smoothly
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field
Must be located within a commutable distance to Canton, Ohio
Must be available for in-person work on specific days for content filming, team meetings, and event attendance
Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend community events as needed
Strong understanding of social media platforms (specifically TikTok, IG, FB)
Basic knowledge of video editing and content creation
Strong organizational skills for event planning
High aptitude and willingness to master technical compliance standards (WCAG/ADA)
