Franchise Times is an industry-leading national business publication seeking a full-time senior finance reporter to join its editorial team. The role involves crafting compelling stories and reporting on franchise business financial transactions, economic trends, and building relationships within the franchise sector and restaurant industry.

Publishing

Responsibilities

Report and write multiple weekly web stories and contribute monthly stories in print
Contribute to exclusive Franchise Times and Restaurant Finance Monitor projects and special sections
Work closely with other editors and reporters to develop engaging content strategies
Organize and moderate virtual and live event panels
Attend and cover industry conferences while developing key franchise relationships

Required

At least 5 years of business or financial writing experience and a deep understanding of finance, economics and financial statements
An ability to build relationships with restaurant owners, industry bankers, analysts and consultants
Demonstrated leadership skills and sound editorial judgment
Understanding of SEO and site/traffic metrics such as Google analytics
Excellent storytelling ability and command of proper grammar and style
Strong research and interviewing skills
The motivation to learn and constantly strive for improvement
Ability to take direction, prioritize and work independently

Preferred

Knowledge of franchising or restaurant finance is a plus, but not required
