Responsibilities
Build strong, supportive relationships with members experiencing financial hardship
Provide outstanding service in every interaction, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset
Contact members via phone, written communication, and occasional in-person conversations
Use excellent listening and problem‑solving skills to deescalate difficult situations and identify viable repayment solutions
Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of all member interactions
Partner with internal teams and branch staff to create and implement appropriate resolutions consistent with credit union policies and regulatory requirements
Work assigned delinquency queues, making high‑volume outbound calls—often resulting in voicemail outreach and follow‑up
Collaborate cross‑functionally when members visit branches in response to collection calls
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
2+ years experience in collections, lending, or a related financial services field
Knowledge of: Wisconsin Consumer Act
Knowledge of: Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
Knowledge of: Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and financial services software; Temenos experience is a plus
