Responsibilities
Schedules, assigns, oversees, and reviews the work of the staff
Provides staff training and assistance
Conducts performance evaluations
Determines priorities and plans unit work
Establishes and maintains unit procedures
Develops or makes recommendations on the development of policies and standards
Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures
Coordinates unit activities with the activities of other tax units and with data processing
Assists in the selection and training of staff
Prepares reports and correspondence
May monitor examination work by reviewing reports of examinations
May conduct highly complex and difficult hearings
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Eight (8) years of experience in accounting or auditing
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been at the full professional working level involving the interpretation and application of tax law and fiscal principles
Considerable knowledge of relevant agency policies and procedures
Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant state and federal unemployment compensation laws, statutes, and regulations
Considerable interpersonal skills
Considerable oral and written communication skills
Ability to utilize computer software
Supervisory ability
Preferred
Leadership experience
Experience in the Employer Status Unit
Experience in customer conflict resolution
Experience training staff on Unemployment Insurance matters
Experience in interpreting and applying Unemployment Insurance State and Federal Statutes
