INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST
NAVWAR is seeking an Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Operations Research Analyst to serve in the COMOPTEVFOR. The role involves providing technical guidance on evaluating defense acquisition systems and developing best practices for data analysis and operational testing.

Responsibilities
You will provide scientific, technical and OPTEVFOR process guidance on the overall approach to evaluating major defense acquisition systems and ensure test and evaluation results of programs are technically evaluated correctly
You will develop, implement, and update best practices for analyzing data collection, performing reliability and maintainability assessments, and logistical support
You will develop and implement new concepts, methodologies, procedures, and designs to achieve the required level of compatibility or commonality across the operational, procedural, and technical spectrums of operational testing
You will validate suitability scenarios ensuring proper application, measurements, and realistic expectation management
You will collaborate with the OTDs and test teams on the development and iterative revision of test reports
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience includes duties related to testing and evaluating major acquisition programs, working knowledge of testing theories and practices, participating in data analysis, using problem resolution skills, and demonstrating effective technical writing skills
Applicants must possess a professional engineering degree or equivalent qualifications as specified in the education section
