Senior Data Analyst
Walmart Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to improve business efficiency through data analysis and interpretation. Responsibilities
Analyzes and interprets information for one or more initiative work streams to improve business efficiency by using various analytical methodologies; developing creative solutions within business areas that reduce cost and/or meet business goals; using judgment to assign what activities must be done; and ensuring data accuracy
Collect customer requirements, determine technical issues, conduct analytics tasks, and report insights and findings to executives and engineering teams
Identify new data sources and new methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting
Analyzes complex data to identify patterns and detect anomalies in data using statistical tools and machine learning algorithms and make recommendations to business areas to effectively assist them with decision making on operational or other business issues
Conduct advanced statistical analyses to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance
Develops and directs one or more work streams of a cross-functional project to achieve desired results by ensuring understanding of scope of work; organizing timelines and deliverables; facilitating meetings involving project teams to analyze, plan, and implement project initiatives; taking corrective action; and reporting results and deliverables to supervisors and stakeholders
Develops tools that support decision making and business cases by summarizing needed information; determining what information must be reported; ensuring customer needs are met; and analyzing an initiative's impact to the business
Assumes duties of Project Manager III, Supply Chain in the absence of the Project Manager III, Supply Chain by attending meetings; working directly with the project team members on specific projects and analyses; performing analyses; providing directional advice and guidance related to defined logistical issues; and determining which issues should be elevated to a higher priority
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance or related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field
Experience utilizing SQL and HIVE to manipulate large data sets, create data assets and present information in a format that drives adoption of new solutions
Experience with ETL, Data modelling, Data exploration and building data assets in R and Python
Experience with SQL Server, Teradata, GCP, Informix, Oracle, Big Data, and Tableau
Experience with Business Intelligence, Looker, and Thoughtspot
Experience creating Business Process Flow Diagrams and designing and developing analytical data flow diagrams
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Experience planning and tracking JIRA and defining, developing and maintaining Metadata, Data Quality Rules
Experience with Power BI and Tableau for Dashboarding and Reporting
Experience with data storage and analysis using google cloud and Big Query
Experience with Survey Designing and deployment and response Tracking using survey tools including Mediallia and Feedbackalley
Experience with SAS for Data Mining and Advanced Excel and VBA for complex reporting and Automation
