Responsibilities
Analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time
Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time
Review borrower applications. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time
Utilize communication and access of daily rates, credit reports and DU responses and transmitting to processor. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time
Collect appropriate documentation from each applicant and deliver loan package to processor in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time
Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and support staff's expectations. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time
Attend and participate in all lending meetings as required. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time
Provide guidance and assistance to new Mortgage Loan Assistants. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time
Maintain an NMLS registration throughout employment as a Mortgage Sales Assistant. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily
Complete BSA/AML training and other compliance training as necessary. This duty is performed quarterly
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Qualification
Required
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc
Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
Intermediate: 10-Key, Accounting
Four (4) years related experience or a combined experience and training
Strong communication skills, verbal and in writing
Knowledge of Mortgage loans and credit applications
Knowledge of intermediate accounting
