Coordinator, Government Affairs
Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider. They are seeking a Coordinator for Government Affairs to manage outreach events, coordinate vendors, track budgets, and assist with community advisory committees.

Responsibilities
Responsible for providing administrative support for the Government Affairs team including but not limited to budget tracking and coordination, meetings and calendar coordination, ticket and sponsorship purchases and deliverables, legislative research, invoice processing, and updating and managing databases and tools within the department (e.g., Salesforce, Wrike) to ensure projects stay on schedule and documentation is current
Lead team efforts to define, track, and report on outreach and grant metrics both internally and externally. Develop dashboards and reporting tools, in collaboration with other CPA teams, to support these efforts. Responsible for tracking and analyzing project outcomes and deliverables for grants to local non-profit organizations and preparing internal reports on findings. Responsible for coordinating and project managing work between CPA’s Programs team and Communication and Marketing team and grantees
Responsible for providing planning and logistical support, vendor coordination, SWAG and collateral ordering, tracking, inventory, organizing, coordination, and helping with event setup and table hosting for various virtual and in-person events. Responsible for representing CPA at events in its member agencies, in coordination with CPA’s Government Affairs managers. Responsible for tracking and compiling outcomes of events and creating event reports
Responsible for coordination with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of products and services. Responsibilities include coordinating payment and review of invoices, managing licenses and subscriptions, coordinating license renewals, reviewing contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), coordinating support requests or escalations, processing change orders, and tracking vendor performance. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor issue resolution, procurement updates, and project alignment to ensure vendors meet CPA standards and expectations
Responsible for attending and providing assistance to run the community advisory committee monthly meetings and assist with the preparation, posting and noticing of meeting minutes, agendas, and packets
Responsible for coordinating day-to-day tasks for the Government Affairs teams, ensuring smooth workflow and communications between stakeholders to meet deadlines and achieve goals within the departments. Responsible for coordinating interactions with internal and external stakeholders

Qualification
Required
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in communications, administration, or project management
Availability to attend evening and weekend meetings or events within CPA's service territory
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, scheduling, time management skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments with minimal supervision
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to communicate complex matters that require explanation or interpretation
Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices including preparing correspondence and operating modern office equipment
Proficient with data visualization tools, or related software (i.e. Tableau)
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, and advanced knowledge of Excel
Demonstrate good judgement and integrity
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Communicate effectively, orally, and in writing; and the ability to translate complex technical information into non-technical language
Have a strong work ethic and be comfortable taking initiative/working in a fast-paced environment
Work well on diverse teams and be highly collaborative
Enjoy engaging with passionate internal and external stakeholders
High tolerance for uncertainty but know how to bring things to resolution
Be able to interpret and explain policies, procedures, and regulations
Be able to organize and carry out projects with minimal instruction
Must be able to work at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
