Splat Lab is seeking dynamic, engaging, and adventurous educators for after-school programs and workshops in East Queens. The role involves leading classes, managing teaching assistants, and ensuring student engagement in a creative, hands-on environment.
Education Administration Programs
Responsibilities
Lead classes independently, delegate Teaching Assistants or school support staff, and serve as the point person for programs
Work with Lead Educators to support classes, manage stations, and ensure all students are engaged and on task
Qualification
Required
1-2 years working with youth in group settings (after-school, summer camps, museums, or early childhood)
Strong group management skills
Ability to take direction and collaborate effectively
Experience with positive discipline practices
2-3+ years of working with youth in a leadership role
A dynamic, magnetic personality that engages all students
Strong group management skills with the ability to confidently organize transitions, set up structured projects, and create clear rituals and routines
Experience directing and collaborating with assistants to keep students excited and on task
Strength-based, restorative, positive discipline approach
A progressive teaching style
Strong facilitation and classroom management skills
Museum educators, teaching artists, or educators with Montessori, Waldorf, or Reggio Emilia backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply
Preferred
Exceptional candidates with 5+ years of experience leading youth programs may be considered for advanced roles
