Senior Brand Strategist (US)
Bald Agency is an innovative agency focused on transforming brands across various sectors. They are seeking a Senior Brand Strategist to lead branding engagements by conducting research, synthesizing insights, and developing strategic brand deliverables to guide clients and creative teams.

Responsibilities
Drive client discovery through interviews, workshops, and material review
Conduct desk research, qualitative research, and quantitative research, and/or manage primary research vendors for larger asks
Distill complexity into a clear point of view: what matters, what doesn’t, and what we’re going to do about it
Author brand strategy that’s usable and inspiring, owning the creation and presentation of core deliverables like positioning, mission/purpose, values, brand portfolio strategy, messaging frameworks, personality/voice
Guide brand strategy into design and creative, authoring design briefs, creative briefs, and creative platforms
Present confidently, clearly, and persuasively
Represent Bald’s strategy perspective to founders and C-suite-level clients on smaller engagements solo, and on larger engagements in partnership with a Director/AD
Collaborate with creative directors, designers, art directors, copywriters, growth marketers, UX designers, and more to make sure work stays on-strategy
Manage priorities across multiple projects with proactive communication and professional self-management (i.e., be a senior operator, not just a senior thinker)
Build judgement on when and how to escalate a problem (scope changes, client challenges, new-business opportunities, resource needs) and when and how to just solve them
Contribute to the constantly-evolving, inspiring, fun (virtual) place to work that is Bald
Qualification
Required
6+ years in strategy, at least 3 of those in an established branding or design-led agency
Deep command of core strategy fundamentals (research → synthesis → problem definition → solution definition → alignment)
Clear strategic thinking with a confident, well-articulated point of view
Excellent writing, presentation, and storytelling skills
A collaborative team member who adds depth without ego
Preferred
Based in New York City (or nearby), purely for ease of occasional (1–2x month) in-person team meet-ups and client meetings, but not a deciding factor
Experience working across multiple brand touch points (identity, campaigns, digital, content)
Workshop facilitation experience
A “second weapon” skill or domain of expertise to add to Bald's arsenal (think: qual or quant research design and execution, change management, user research, business strategy, or a specific sector e.g., hospitality, professional services, CPG, etc.)
