Senior Area Sales Manager - Greater Myrtle Beach Area

Strand Hospitality Services, demonstrating excellence in hospitality management since 1969, is seeking an experienced Senior Area Sales Manager to lead and grow business travel and outside sales for a portfolio of hotels in the Greater Myrtle Beach Area. This role involves developing sales strategies, managing group bookings, and collaborating with property managers to drive revenue performance.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive outside sales and BT strategy for a multi-hotel portfolio
Proactively prospect, secure, and grow local and regional corporate accounts, negotiated rate accounts, and extended-stay business
Conduct consistent outside sales calls, site visits, and client presentations within assigned markets
Negotiate corporate rate agreements in alignment with brand and ownership strategies
Maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure accurate account documentation in the CRM
A minimum of 50% or more of this role is expected to be dedicated to proactive outside sales activity, including in-market sales calls, prospecting, client meetings, site inspections, and relationship development
Handle select group sales opportunities for one or more hotels, including inquiry management, site inspections, contract negotiation, and coordination with on-property teams
Work closely with Revenue Management to ensure optimal pricing and displacement analysis
Support local, SMERF, and small-to-mid-size corporate group bookings as assigned
Assist with pre-opening group sales efforts for the hotel in development, as applicable
Partner with General Managers, Revenue Management, and Corporate Sales leadership to drive overall portfolio performance
Monitor market trends and competitive sets to identify new opportunities
Prepare and present regular sales activity and performance reports
Represent the hotels at industry events, trade shows, chamber meetings, and networking functions

Required

Minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience with a strong emphasis on outside sales and BT/corporate sales
Group sales experience required; multi-property experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to generate new business and grow long-term accounts
Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities across several hotels
Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly accountable
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within the Greater Myrtle Beach area
