Responsibilities
Serve as the primary mentor and source of strategic project guidance for early-career researchers
Support first-time independent group leaders in building, managing, and advancing their teams and scientific programs
Foster cross-leverage and collaboration among active research groups at the US headquarters and XSeed Labs incubator
Work closely with pharmaceutical partners to advance a shared vision of fast-paced, high-risk, high-reward innovation throughout the lifecycle of each project
Contribute to shaping BioMed X’s scientific project portfolio across all geographies
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated scientific expertise in at least one core biomedical discipline (molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, oncology, or neuroscience), evidenced by a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
A minimum of 6 years of postdoctoral or post-PhD experience in biomedical research
At least 3 years of proven leadership experience, including direct management and mentorship of scientific staff and small R&D project teams
Hands-on experience with R&D and drug discovery processes in an industrial setting (life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology sectors)
Excellent scientific and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across disciplines, cultures, and organizational levels
Strong ability to distill complex scientific challenges into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and external pharmaceutical partners
Proven decision-making skills in a research and development environment
International professional experience, with demonstrated effectiveness in global or multicultural settings
Established track record of successful and responsible budget planning and management
