Responsibilities
Establishing quality standards for services the company offers
Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes
Inspecting and testing the materials and services provided by company
Using gadgets such as micrometer screw gauges to measure products
Removing products and services that don’t meet production standards and recommending strategies to improve product quality
Accepting or rejecting finished products and services and discussing inspection results with the production team
Performing inspections at random to assess service quality
Qualification
Required
SSPC NBPI and 4+ years coating inspection experience preferably in the Marine industry (Higher certifications and experience level is preferred)
Experience and knowledge of the industry standards for surface preparation and coating applications and knowledge of basic QA equipment (SSPC/AMPP)
Inspecting blasted steel and marine coatings
High level of documentation required for the coating process and maintaining those records
Familiar with basic computer skills such as spreadsheet software, word processing software, email management, data entry, productivity software etc
Climbing, crawling, and squatting in numerous confined spaces
Working from elevated heights or from aerial equipment such as JLGs
Knowledge of industry standards pertaining to blast and paint process (SSPC Standards)
Able to pass a background check
Have valid REAL ID
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
