IT Engineer

Security and Investigations

Responsibilities

Maintain, modify and expand the company’s wired and wireless network infrastructure
Administer and optimize the company’s Azure-hosted virtual cloud environment
Design and implement secure, scalable network solutions
Specify, procure, configure and maintain all IT hardware: servers, workstations, laptops, touchscreen devices and mobile phones
Ensure effective lifecycle management of all hardware assets
Deploy and support Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems
Manage software applications, licenses, SaaS subscriptions and the MS365 ecosystem
Maintain company domain services and website
Deploy and support conference room audio/visual equipment and scheduling tools
Handle onboarding and offboarding of employees and contractors, ensuring appropriate IT access and compliance
Provide Tier 1 & 2 support for internal tech issues and user queries
Participate in client project meetings, offering technical expertise
Set up and maintain project-specific application servers and remote systems as required
Diagnose and resolve hardware and OS-related issues
Install and configure desktop and server OS environments (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Understand system imaging, patching and automation tools
Design and configure secure, high-performance wired and wireless networks
Understand core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN)
Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance
Identify and mitigate security threats, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks
Implement endpoint protection, firewalls and access control policies
Monitor systems for suspicious activity and respond to incidents

Required

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in IT systems engineering or administration
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and MS365 administration
Familiarity with networking tools and diagnostic utilities
Understanding of IT compliance and data protection standards
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Comfortable participating in both internal and external technical discussions

Preferred

Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Azure Administrator, etc.) are a plus
