Litigation Paralegal

Law Office of W. Shane Jennings is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal who can independently draft, file, and manage Texas state court litigation without supervision. The role involves drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and assisting with trial preparation while ensuring compliance with Texas legal procedures.

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Draft and manage written discovery (Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Requests for Admission) and assist with responses and supplementation under the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
Draft pleadings, disclosures, subpoenas, and routine, attorney-directed motions
Ensure compliance with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, including Rules 190–194, and applicable local court rules
Manage discovery productions, including Bates stamping, indexing, redactions, and privilege logs
Prepare and maintain initial disclosures and supplementation
Draft and issue subpoenas and notices; coordinate third-party records collection (medical, employment, business, and other evidence)
Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and expert-related logistics (scheduling, notices, exhibits)
Organize evidence and prepare case chronologies, document summaries, and damages or exposure summaries as applicable
Assist with trial preparation, including trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness files, and hearing binders
Manage eFiling through eFileTexas.gov and ensure proper service and docketing
Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, experts, vendors, and opposing counsel
Maintain confidentiality and comply with ethical obligations at all times

Required

2–5 years of Texas civil litigation paralegal experience
Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas state court practice
Experience managing discovery, productions, and deposition logistics
Strong written communication, organization, and deadline-management skills
Ability to manage multiple active cases with minimal supervision
Professional judgment, discretion, and attention to detail

Preferred

Experience in personal injury, commercial litigation, or complex civil matters
Familiarity with litigation case-management software (Clio)
Experience with PDF/OCR tools and document management systems
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
