3+ years expOlive Recruiting is searching for an Operations Agent for our client, a well-established international freight forwarding company located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is critical in managing international air and ocean import/export shipments while supporting a collaborative, fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities
Manage international air and ocean import/export shipments from start to finish, including quoting, booking, documentation, and tracking
Provide proactive communication and exceptional customer service to clients, carriers, and partners
Support domestic freight operations as needed in an all-hands-on-deck team environment
Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with management to streamline workflows
Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, and truckers to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective transportation
Review and verify documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance
Maintain organized shipment records and manage daily workflow efficiently
Actively prevent unnecessary charges such as storage, demurrage, and detention by staying ahead of deadlines
Step in to assist team members when needed to ensure seamless operations
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of experience in international freight forwarding or logistics operations
Strong understanding of air and/or ocean import/export procedures; experience in both preferred but not required
Background in domestic or 3PL logistics is a plus
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proactive and trainable, with the ability to manage workload independently and efficiently
Comfortable in a small, collaborative, fast-paced team environment
Must be on-site full-time; this is not a hybrid or remote position
Preferred
Experience in both air and ocean import/export procedures
DG/Hazardous certification is not required (but a plus if held)
