BMS AI Edge Software Engineer
DeepRec.ai is a publicly listed, AI driven energy technology company focused on advanced materials science, battery engineering, and machine learning. They are seeking a BMS & AI Edge Software Engineer to design and deploy AI centric algorithms for battery systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate software into real-world applications.
Responsibilities
Design and implement SoX architectures covering charge, health, power, safety, degradation, and related metrics
Translate models and logic into production grade code running on edge devices
Collaborate with battery physicists and engineers on model selection and validation
Research and evaluate alternative algorithms to improve accuracy, robustness, and performance
Optimize models and software for real world operating constraints
Present results internally and demonstrate measurable improvements
Test and validate software as a production ready product using defined methodologies
Support validation at customer sites or manufacturing plants as required
Engage directly with customers to support deployment and technical approval
Qualification
Required
PhD or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, AI, or a closely related field
Equivalent hands on industry experience will be considered
5 to 9 years of experience in Li ion batteries, BMS, or ESS software engineering (10+ years for Senior level)
Strong background in BMS sensing and control software including voltage, temperature, current, and diagnostics
Solid understanding of battery chemistries and characteristics such as OCV, C rate behavior, and impedance
Experience developing data driven or AI based algorithms for battery systems, ideally deployed on edge or cloud
Proven experience coding, integrating, validating, and delivering production software
Exposure to customer facing delivery or deployment projects
Preferred
Battery characterization methods such as GITT, dQ/dV, or similar
Power electronics knowledge including DC/DC or DC/AC conversion
Familiarity with power delivery architectures such as UPS or battery backup systems for data centers
