2nd Shift CNC Machinist/Programmer

Responsibilities
Plan machining operations by studying blueprints, materials, specifications, and assembly drawings
Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure part accuracy and conformance
Program CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions, setting zero and reference points, and defining work offsets
Perform calculations involving geometry and trigonometry to support precise machining operations
Verify setups and part conformance by inspecting first-run and in-process workpieces
Maintain specifications by observing operations and making adjustments to meet quality requirements
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic equipment repairs
Document activities by completing production, inspection, and quality logs accurately
Support knowledge sharing across shifts by communicating updates, irregularities, and ongoing needs
Participate in training and continuous improvement opportunities to expand skills and efficiency
Contribute to organizational goals by identifying and implementing process improvements
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or Associates degree from an accredited community college or vocational school
Job related experience and/or training will be considered in lieu of post-secondary education
Professional, proactive and positive attitude with internal and external customers and coworkers
Ability to perform light physical activity
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled
Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
Strong interpersonal skills
Good verbal and written skills
Proven organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision
Ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands
