Responsibilities
Provide operational support for Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments within EUC
Deploy, manage, and secure desktop images in Omnissa / VMware VDI in alignment with enterprise policies and industry standards
Manage centralized user profiles, preferences, and data
Administer Omnissa / VMware App Volumes (Managers, Databases, AppStacks, Writable Volumes)
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot performance of EUC systems
Respond to incidents and service requests via ServiceNow, owning advanced technical problem resolution
Diagnose and resolve complex system issues; collaborate with vendor support as needed
Lead or contribute to technical projects, including planning, execution, and delivery of time-sensitive tasks
Prepare and present technical materials to customers and management
Maintain and develop IT documentation and operational procedures
Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members
Perform system-level changes, including registry modifications, when required
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing Omnissa / VMware products, including: Horizon View, App Volumes, User Environment Manager, Workspace ONE, ThinApp, vRealize Operations for Horizon
Strong Windows administration skills (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2)
Solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
Experience with SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, or 2014)
Strong scripting skills in one or more of the following: PowerShell, Python, VBScript, Shell, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, C++
Understanding of data center networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing/switching, firewalls, ports, load balancing)
Knowledge of storage protocols (NFS, SMB, FC, iSCSI, NVMe, S3)
Experience securing and hardening Windows systems and enterprise infrastructure
Proven ability to independently analyze and resolve complex availability and performance issues
Preferred
Current Omnissa / VMware Certification (VCP-DTM / VCAP-DTM preferred)
Strong background in Desktop Virtualization (VMware Horizon, vSphere, Citrix, Microsoft RDS)
Experience with Dell Wyse Configuration Manager
Experience working in large enterprise environments
Knowledge of SAN technologies, management, and physical configuration
Experience with MSI and Windows Installer for ThinApp and App Stack creation
Exposure to cloud-based virtualization platforms and migration from on-prem to cloud VDI
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), or Four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
