Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe System DBA for a Contract with a client in Cleveland, OH. You will be responsible for managing DB2 environments, executing utilities, and ensuring stable, high‑performance database operations across z/OS systems.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain DB2 objects—including databases, tablespaces, tables, and indexes—across z/OS environments

Execute DB2 commands and utilities (STOP/START, DISPLAY, REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY/RECOVER, LOAD/UNLOAD) to ensure database stability and performance

Perform SMP/E maintenance, support DB2 upgrades and migrations, and apply BSDS updates using DSNJU003/DSNJU004

Monitor and tune system and application performance using DB2 catalog analysis and ISV tools such as BMC, CA, and IBM utilities

Troubleshoot DB2 and application-related incidents, managing security, grants, privileges, and adhering to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in disaster recovery planning and execution

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline

8–10 years of experience as a Mainframe DB2 DBA or System Programmer supporting large‑scale z/OS environments

Strong hands‑on expertise with Mainframe DB2 administration, including DB2 architecture, JCL proficiency, DB2 utilities, SMP/E maintenance, and performance tuning

Proven experience with incident/problem/change management under ITIL processes, along with working knowledge of BMC/CA tools, SQL, catalog analysis, and DR support
