As a Civil Staff Engineer III, you will contribute to the planning, design, and execution of energy-focused civil engineering projects, supporting renewable energy development and site engineering efforts.
Environmental Consulting
Responsibilities
Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater management designs
Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
Support utility coordination and access road layout for energy facilities
Conduct feasibility studies and site evaluations
Perform engineering calculations and constructability assessments
Prepare engineering drawings, design reports, and technical documentation
Support permitting efforts, including SWPPP, NPDES, and local land‑use approvals
Analyze terrain, hydrology, and environmental constraints
Integrate CAD and GIS data to optimize site layouts and project footprints
Conduct site visits, collect field data, and verify existing conditions
Coordinate with geotechnical and environmental teams to support design inputs
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Verdantas
Participate in QA/QC reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
5-10 years of civil engineering experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure
E.I.T required, PE preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS)
Strong understanding of permitting pathways for energy and land development
Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
Ability to manage tasks independently while supporting multiple project managers
