Responsibilities
Serve as the primary coordinator for processing financial records requests under FOIA and state equivalents
Track, review, and respond to public inquiries while ensuring timely and lawful disclosures
Collaborate with finance staff to locate and compile requested records while applying appropriate exemptions
Manage fees and maintain clear communication with requestors throughout the process
Implement and uphold legal and compliance standards related to sensitive financial data
Maintain organized records of all requests and correspondence to ensure transparency and accountability
Provide guidance on compliance matters and legal terminology to support financial operations
Use Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, to prepare reports and manage data
Work closely with state and federal government reporting requirements
Balance confidentiality and transparency in handling sensitive financial information
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in FOIA and/or the legal compliance field
Strong knowledge of FOIA regulations and state-level public records laws
Proficiency in financial data management and legal terminology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with requestors and staff
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
Experience working in or with state and federal government operations
Preferred
Background in paralegal work or similar compliance roles is highly desirable
