Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and operate mechanical/reliability test equipment
Execute test plans and collect accurate, repeatable data
Maintain test stations, fixtures, and instrumentation
Develop and validate new test methodologies
Improve measurement accuracy, precision, and throughput
Document procedures and train team members
Serve as technical liaison with equipment and material vendors
Assess new materials, equipment upgrades, and process improvements
Lead integration of new tools and fixtures into lab workflows
Collaborate with Design, NPI, FA, Thermal, and other teams
Provide real-time observations, identify anomalies, and share insights
Support debug efforts, root-cause analysis, and correlation studies
Maintain test logs, SOPs, and equipment documentation
Prepare clear written reports and share findings
Communicate risks, trends, and technical insights proactively

Required

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience
OR Associate's degree and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience
OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience
Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of hands-on experience in a related technical field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and documentation abilities
Ability to collaborate across engineering teams
Experience with semiconductor packaging, SMT/BLR processes, or mechanical characterization
Hands‑on experience with reliability and mechanical test equipment, such as: Thermal Cycling Chambers (TC), Drop shock test system, Instron or Universal Testing Machines (UTM), High‑speed Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems
Familiarity with metrology and inspection equipment, such as: Optical Microscopes & Digital Microscopy, X‑ray inspection or CT systems
Experience with FA (Failure Analysis) tools, including: Cross‑sectioning tools, polishing systems, Acoustic microscopy (C‑SAM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
