Marketing Associate

The Detroit Lions are seeking a Marketing Associate for a season-long internship to assist with the operations of the Marketing Department. The role involves coordinating marketing activities, managing budgets, and supporting game day events and promotions.

Responsibilities

Coordinate marketing and promotional activities and assist in executing all Detroit Lions offseason and game day events and activations
Assist Marketing team in all operational and marketing elements for Detroit Lions Training Camp as well as leadership of seasonal Training Camp Assistants
Oversee tracking and maintaining marketing departmental budgets including processing invoices, tracking spend, and providing budget updates throughout the year
Assist with the management and event execution of all Detroit Lions fan affinity groups to find innovative ways to increase participation and drive membership throughout the NFL season
Support the ideation and implementation of activations for the Detroit Lions tailgate area, Pride Plaza, and assist with game day responsibilities related to the activations and various corporate partners tied to them
Support Marketing team in management and creation of influencer programs to increase brand awareness and entice new audiences
Assist the Marketing Manager with development and execution of Lions international programming, balancing financial, strategic, operational, and partnership considerations
Create event outlines, timelines, layouts, maps and various other planning documents for all events
Assist in coordinating all Marketing events and gameday giveaways in addition to halftime and post-game on-field promotional activities
Support game presentation staff with live entertainment planning and sponsorship fulfillment
Research NFL team initiatives regarding promotions, gameday presentation and off-season events
Fulfill administrative duties such as data entry, correspondence, facilitating meetings, procurement and care of operational supplies, general communication with staff, and other office and event responsibilities as necessary
Support organizational and department project management initiatives using the Asana platform

Required

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management or related fields required
Proficient in computer programs including; MS Excel, MS Word, MS power-point, MS Publisher and Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign
Strong strategic thinker and problem solver with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in diverse environments with the ability to connect with individuals of all statures. Interacts with employees, marketing partners, and club affiliates in a professional manner
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to demonstrate professionalism while interacting with high-profile individuals and external partners

Preferred

Minimum 1 year of event management and/or gameday promotional experience strongly preferred
