Responsibilities
Purchasing, assembling, installing, and operating equipment, instrumentation, software, and other apparatus in classroom or laboratories in support of instructional and research activities
Assisting faculty in setting up equipment and material for experiments laboratory exercises, demonstrations, and assisting students during these activities
Maintaining, modifying, calibrating and repairing lab equipment
Procuring, receiving, and maintaining adequate stock of materials and supplies for teaching and research purposes
Coordinating and implementing program safety strategy and policies
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required
Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation
Selectee must provide a valid state driver's license and safe driving record
Selectee subject to successful completion of pre-employment medical exam
All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 grade level in the federal sector
Specialized experience must include some of the following: Boat design/analysis/repair/construction, marine systems, electrical or mechanical systems, Computer-Aided Design software, 3D printers, electronics/software, instrumentation, experimentation
Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, physics, computer aided design, machining and manufacturing, physical sciences, or mathematics
Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet Federal qualification requirements if you can show that your foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States
Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered
