Responsibilities

Coordinates pre-investigative, investigative and post investigative efforts with internal administration, prosecutors and state and federal agencies
Organizes and evaluates data from various sources, utilizing research methods, interview skills, and proficiency in the use of technology to compile clear and concise investigative reports, according to established procedures
Investigates alleged or suspected violations of federal, state and local laws as well as rules and regulations to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution
Manages a caseload
Provides testimony in administrative hearings and criminal courts
Works closely with and provides training to other team members or other employees of DHS
Performs other professional responsibilities, as assigned

Required

High school diploma/GED AND three (3) years of job-related experience
OR
Two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Compliance Specialist 1 (RCP060) or position equivalent
Ability to engage in travel for work related responsibilities
Excellent investigative skills, with verifiable investigative experience
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation in written product, as initially assessed by a review of application credentials submitted
Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and / or standard software applications typically used in corporate office environments

Preferred

Prior full-time professional investigative experience with a state, federal, or local law enforcement agency, government entity, or internal investigations / internal affairs unit within the public or private sector
Strong experience conducting interviews of complainants, witnesses, and subjects/accused parties, with demonstrated ability to elicit detailed and accurate information to support investigative findings
Experience conducting administrative or criminal investigations within law enforcement or other regulatory environments is highly desirable
Proven experience reviewing and interpreting laws, policy, rules, or regulations to arrive at a determination based on investigative findings
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
OR
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of related experience
OR
Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of related experience
Some positions may require a certification or licensure
Some positions may require a valid driver's license
