Systems Administrator
Sumitomo (SHI) Demag is a leading manufacturer of high-precision plastic injection molding machines. They are seeking a Systems Administrator to support IT systems and end users, manage user accounts, and maintain the IT infrastructure, while participating in IT projects and collaborating with global teams.
Business Development
Responsibilities
Provide Tier I and Tier II support for business users, both remote and on-site
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SAP, Verizon)
Support and maintain hardware including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and company phones
Troubleshoot issues with business-critical and legacy applications (Windchill/PTC, S-One, TakeStock, older SQL-based systems)
Manage accounts for various platforms such as AT&T Office@Hand, Canon, Adobe, PTC/Windchill, and Verizon
Maintain, patch, and update Windows Server infrastructure, including Hyper-V environments, domain controllers, file servers, print servers, and database servers
Ensure continuity of key business processes including backups, data availability, VPN connectivity, and failover systems
Act as the technical point of contact for infrastructure-related vendors
Monitor and maintain basic networking components, including Meraki firewalls (HA pairs), switches, and wireless infrastructure
Participate in IT projects assigned by the IT Manager, including infrastructure upgrades, application rollouts, and security improvement efforts
Support cross-department and cross-location initiatives as needed
Assist with project tasks assigned by PMD (Japan) and SDG (Germany)
Work with overseas teams on issues related to SAP, S-One, networking, or shared systems
Provide accurate communication and follow-through on delegated tasks
Any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Special projects as assigned by department manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree
Minimum 2+ years of experience in any IT-related role involving system or workstation support
Knowledge of operating systems, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls), virtualization technologies (Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure)
Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly and logically; strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with users, technical teams, vendors, and overseas IT groups
Ability to multitask, prioritize issues, and manage time efficiently
High degree of adaptability for supporting legacy systems and varying technology stacks
Preferred
5+ years of IT operations or systems administration experience preferred
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft MCSA, or AWS Solutions Architect preferred
