Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, schedules, and reporting packages
Own month-end close (journal entries, allocations, accruals, and reconciliations across GL, bank, and key balance sheet accounts)
Compile WIP schedules, revenue recognition entries, and project profitability reporting using percent-to-complete methodologies
Oversee job cost accounting: original budgets, cost updates, cost-to-complete, and budget maintenance
Manage contract billing (including AIA), change orders, and progress billings
Support project variance analysis, budget vs. actuals, forecasting, and cash flow visibility at the project level
Administer subcontractor compliance: lien waivers, retainage tracking, certificates of insurance, and contract documentation
Partner with Project Managers and field teams to review financial performance, analyze variances, and forecast remaining costs
Support internal controls, process standardization, and external audit requests
Identify and implement process improvements and automation within ERP and project systems
Oversee full-cycle accounting activities across AP, AR, GL, billing, and job cost entries; ensure accurate multi-system posting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or Finance); CPA or CPA‑track preferred
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with construction industry experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated expertise in: Job cost accounting, WIP, percent‑to‑complete, contract billing
Subcontractor compliance, lien releases, retainage
Month‑end close ownership (accruals, reconciliations, reporting packages)
Budgeting, forecasting, project variance analysis, and cost‑to‑complete
Systems proficiency: Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Procore, CMiC (highly desirable); strong ERP knowledge required
Advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, modeling) and data integrity mindset
Excellent communication skills; able to collaborate with project managers, field teams, finance, and leadership
Organized, detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable supporting a growing construction finance team
