Toyota North America is seeking an Accounting Analyst for a temporary assignment in Plano, TX. This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting, completing the month-end close process, and supporting audit requirements while collaborating with various teams across the organization.

Responsibilities

Perform Accounting Activities (35%)
Perform the month-end close process, including:
Review and reconcile month-end data reports for respective journal entries
Evaluate accuracy and reasonableness of financial information provided by business partners
Prepare and record all associated journal entries
Ensure balances reflected in the financial statements are accurate
Prepare, analyze, and review monthly reports and stand-alone and consolidated fluctuation analyses
Participate in team month-end flux meetings
Assist in the preparation of information for executive presentations and various special projects as requested by management
Complete Quarterly, Calendar Year, and Fiscal Year Reporting (30%)
Prepare quarterly and/or annual financial statements
Prepare and review supporting schedules and documentation required for external financial audits
Provide information required for periodic regulatory audits and tax reporting
Technical Accounting Proficiency and Subject Matter Expertise (20%)
Determine appropriate GAAP accounting treatment and implement accounting and reporting requirements
Independently prepare and respond to ad-hoc requests from internal departments in a timely and accurate manner
Proactively monitor new and revised rulings to determine impacts to Toyota entities, SOX 404, and Tax
Support business unit projects and initiatives by providing subject matter expertise on business processes, internal controls, and accounting and reporting issues while meeting all objective due dates
Special Projects (15%)
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes without impairing controls; propose recommendations to management and coordinate implementation of approved changes
Independently lead and/or support management-directed special projects
Continuously identify opportunities to strengthen and streamline accounting policies and procedures
Investigate and implement advanced usage of available technology and recommend process improvements or changes in accounting treatment as appropriate

Required

Four-year college degree (BA or BS)
3–5 years of relevant work experience (similar field and/or industry)
Strong accounting knowledge and expertise
Strong written documentation skills and written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills, initiative, and ability to multi-task
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to quickly learn new applications or software tools
Work Authorization: Green Card, US Citizen

Preferred

Advanced degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Experience working with ERP applications; SAP preferred
Public accounting experience with a national firm
