Responsibilities
Responsible for gathering data, filing, and paying all the following returns but not limited to
Sales and Use Tax Returns
Business License Tax Returns
Commercial Activity Tax (CAT) Returns
Franchise Tax Returns
Net Profit Tax Returns
B&O Tax Returns
Work with Accounting Manager to ensure accurate and timely filings of all returns
Annual preparation of all local income tax returns
Partner with multiple internal departments to ensure sales tax is understood by all parties and implemented accordingly based on the contract language
Ability to research tax issues
Assist with International tax filings including, but not limited to, Canada
Assist with the implementation of internal controls related to tax matters
Help develop, update, and maintain SOP’s for sales and local taxes
Prepare tax related account reconciliations and monthly accruals
Run weekly audits to verify taxability
Perform various ad-hoc analysis and special projects
Assist as a back-up to other related Accounting procedures
Qualification
Required
1-2 years of accounting experience required
1 or more years of experience in tax preparation, SALT highly preferred
Super strong communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
Preferred
4 year degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred
Strong understanding of accrual based accounting preferred
Knowledge of Great Plains accounting system a plus
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred
