Responsibilities
Support sourcing and securing potato supply from growers, shippers, and suppliers across designated regions. Identify and develop business continuity plans and recommend sourcing strategies that balance cost, service, and quality in conjunction with our financial plan
Monitor market trends and seasonal conditions to anticipate supply risks and opportunities
Work closely with Material Planning, Operations, Transportation, and Vendors to ensure supply meets demand in the most cost-efficient means possible
Supplier Relationship Management: Build strong external partnerships to deliver the business objectives and create a competitive advantage
Create and maintain documentation (including but not limited to, continuity plans, supplier segmentation, supplier scorecards)
Learn and apply company standards for potato quality and grading
Communicate regularly to ensure alignment on quality, quantity, and timelines
Support development of risk management strategies including but not limited to price visibility, volatility reduction and market competitiveness
Maintain accurate pricing and supplier data in inventory systems
Prepare daily/weekly reports on inventory, deliveries, and market conditions
Assist with forecasting and budgeting for raw potato needs
Travel up to 30%
Qualification
Required
Strong background in procurement
Excellent negotiation skills
Contract management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
Self-starter with ability to juggle priorities and able to pivot to short deadlines requests in fast paced environment
Agricultural knowledge or experience
Demonstrated experience with redlining contracts and working closely with Legal and Business Owners to negotiate agreements
Strong analytical background using facts and demonstrate decisions impact to financial plan
Strong experience with Excel (especially pivot tables)
Solid personal presence with the ability to interact with confidence and credibility at all levels of the organization
Ability to analyze and screen suppliers for financial, supply, and service capabilities
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to effectively build and manage relationships
Ability to seek feedback, input, and strive for excellence
Ability to translate information and data into recommendations and actions
