Sourcing Analyst

Industrial Scientific is a company that designs and manufactures gas detection products and solutions to protect workers from hazardous conditions. The Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for executing commodity strategies to improve cost, productivity, quality, and innovation capabilities within the global supply base, as well as managing the company’s global commodity spend and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

Develop and sustain high-efficiency, high-quality domestic and/or global sources of supply for materials and services
Execute commodity strategies and provide detailed reports, analysis, and sourcing or business-related presentations to staff and management
Assist in managing the global supply base through development of supplier scorecards and quarterly business reviews
Source wide range of materials and suppliers to strengthen the global supply base and support commodity strategies
Develop RFQs to competitively bid, evaluate, and select potential suppliers
Manage commodity spend using procurement processes & systems. Focus on price, quality, delivery, innovation, supply chain efficiency & working capital
Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier contracts
Use data analytics, industry benchmarking, and strategic sourcing methodologies to build a robust pipeline of PPV/VAVE cost savings initiatives
Stay current on new processes, techniques and supplier capabilities using continuous improvement tools
Lead low to moderate projects with cross-functional team, including suppliers, to successfully implement a commodity strategy, cost savings initiative or transition a source of supply
Collaborate with Fortive Category Managers to ensure best practices and greatest leverage in procurement, low-cost region sourcing, supplier assessment & management
Execute outsourcing and dual-sourcing initiatives within commodity space
Must be able to travel up to 10-20% to find, develop, and manage domestic and/or global sources of supply

Required

Ability to navigate through ambiguity and change; excel in a fast-paced environment
Ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance
Solid business judgment, including the ability to anticipate the impact of decisions
Ability to consult, advise and influence cross-functionally within the organization
Highly analytical, with a clear, logical understanding of problem-solving including Root Cause, Corrective Action, Counter Measures, Problem Solving Process, and Action Plan development and execution
Strong financial acumen and ability to develop financial business cases for strategic decision making
Capacity to be a change agent, demonstrating persistence and resilience when faced with challenges
Excellent negotiation and conflict management abilities
Working knowledge, proficiency, and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
3+ years' experience in a global operation and leading continuous improvement initiatives
Experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Data Analytics within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of finance and accounting characteristics of supply chain
University Degree (Bachelor's Degree or equivalent) in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related field

Preferred

Experience with Oracle EBS a plus
ASCM or APICS certification as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD a plus
ISM certification as CPSM a plus
