Responsibilities

Researches, analyzes, and interprets moderately complex trade and industry data and information as they relate to office's Defense Priorities and Allocations System, Offsets in Defense Trade, Department of Defense international agreements
Identifies procedural problems in program operations, makes recommendations to resolve complicated problems involving regulatory compliance, technical obstacles
Studies proposed legislation and/or regulations for impact on programs. Researches current or new management practices for application to programs or operations

This position requires a SECRET CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position
You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs
A probationary or trial period may be required

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position
To qualify at the GS-11 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service
Specialized experience is defined as: Analyzing program operations in the business or industry area related to industrial base and/or national security; and Preparing briefings for internal and external stakeholders; and Contacting internal and/or external stakeholders orally and in writing to obtain information
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. or LL.M., if related
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
