Assembly Process Expertise: You need the ability to design and optimize assembly processes by defining sequences, takt times, work content balancing, standard work, and ergonomic improvements
Tooling & Error Proofing Capability: You must be skilled in selecting and applying torque tools, angle-controlled systems, fixtures, nests, and locating mechanisms, while designing PokaYoke solutions that prevent wrong orientation, missing components, and fastener mix-ups
Fastening & Joining Knowledge: You need a strong understanding of fastening strategies and the ability to define torque and angle specifications that ensure consistent, high-quality assembly
Line Readiness & Ramp Up Leadership: You must be able to lead FAT/SAT trials, PPAP builds, and SOP readiness while balancing manpower and automation, identifying bottlenecks, and driving capacity improvements
Machining Process Fundamentals: You need basic machining experience, including defining machining strategies, selecting machines based on rigidity, accuracy, throughput, and cost, and understanding cutting tools, coatings, holders, coolant, speeds, feeds, and depths of cut
Cost Reduction Mindset: You must be able to identify high-cost features and tolerance drivers, reduce cycle time and consumable usage, and improve yield through process stabilization and smarter process design
DFM/DFA Influence: You need the ability to shape product design early by aligning critical features with machining datums and ensuring parts are easy to orient, locate, and fasten during assembly
Cross Problem Solving: You must be capable of diagnosing and resolving issues that span both machining and assembly, ensuring durable, system level solutions
Launch & Industrialization Ownership: You need to manage engineering changes during ramp up, support SOP and post SOP stabilization, and balance cost, quality, and throughput to ensure a smooth industrialization process

Relevant Experience Requirements: You must bring at least 5 years of assembly process experience and basic machining process experience to make informed decisions and lead technical activities effectively
Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required
Experience: Extensive relevant work experience required, including manufacturing and leadership of a large project or multiple projects

Preferred

Projects experience in technical areas is preferred such as assembly technology, CNC machining, complex automation with PLC, MES, Ignition, simple to complex tooling systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and robotics
Candidates must be comfortable with approximately 25% domestic travel and 25% international travel (primarily to Mexico)
