Responsibilities
Process high-volume payroll, including union payroll (most union payroll processed on Mondays)
Handle employee and internal payroll inquiries
Review payroll files submitted by branch locations for accuracy and completeness
Identify system errors and manually correct payroll discrepancies
Process payroll for California employees, ensuring compliance with state regulations
Calculate and process garnishments
Upload payroll files into J&E; manually key payroll when required
Coordinate with offshore payroll teams for file uploads and processing
Create, export, and consolidate payroll reports in Excel
Use pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to analyze payroll data
Assist with payroll audits as responsibilities expand
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
1–2+ years of payroll experience OR strong numerical/analytical skills with willingness to learn payroll
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
Experience supporting large employee populations (up to 25,000–35,000 employees)
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with Dayforce
Union payroll experience
Multi-state payroll experience
California payroll experience
Certified Payroll Professional
