Responsibilities
Gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering
Support Internal Research and Design (IRAD) programs
Conduct analysis in support of the reverse obsolescence of critical flight components
Assist with technical tasks related to mechanical engineering
Support the design and fabrication of automated test equipment supporting US Army rotary wing craft
Perform component analysis, selection, and integration using Computer Automated Design (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other engineering tools and equipment
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
Prior Torch Technologies internship experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Basic stress/strain analysis using ANSYS or the simulation suites inside SolidWorks
Fluid Dynamics of basic hydraulic systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D Drafting
U.S. Citizen
At least 18 years old
Actively enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited educational institution
In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Ability to commit to a full-time schedule for the duration of the internship
Preferred
Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is desired
