Responsibilities
Welcomes and assists the traveling public by providing courteous, professional customer service and serving as a knowledgeable ambassador for the State of Louisiana
Provides accurate general and detailed visitor information, including directions, attractions, tours, restaurants, parks, museums, events, and other points of interest throughout Louisiana
Distributes maps and brochures to visitors and ensures brochure racks and informational materials are well stocked, organized, and current
Collaborates with travel counselors and supervisors to gather, verify, compile, update, and maintain reference materials on tourism activities, festivals, lodging, dining, and related businesses, including researching unusual inquiries using responsible internet practices
Utilizes advanced computer skills and a wide range of general and proprietary software, including Office Suite, Outlook, online forms, and internet portals, while demonstrating responsible and effective technology use
Meets position requirements by maintaining dependable attendance, working flexible schedules (including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency availability), participating in required safety and professional training, and performing physical duties such as lifting up to 10 pounds
