Responsibilities
Perform detailed reviews of trailing twelve-month trial balances to identify unusual activity, including missing accruals, significant fluctuations, and inconsistencies across high-impact accounts
Analyze historical transactions and develop a clear problem list with proposed correcting entries and remediation steps
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review income statement activity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
Investigate variances and anomalies across periods, partnering with management to resolve discrepancies
Prepare and support accurate financial reporting, ensuring alignment between underlying activity and reported results
Maintain documentation and clear audit trails for findings, adjustments, and conclusions
Communicate progress regularly, escalate questions early, and avoid delays by proactively seeking clarification when needed
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis
Proven ability to independently assess large volumes of historical transactions and identify material issues
Comfortable working autonomously while maintaining frequent, proactive communication with leadership
Detail-oriented with strong judgment around materiality and prioritization
